How do I add a domain or sub domain to my account?
It's easy! Simply log into the Web Panel, and follow these simple instructions.

  1. Select the Domains section, and click on the Manage sub-section.

  2. Click on the Add New Domain / Sub-Domain link.

  3. Enter the name of the domain or subdomain you wish to add in the following space (eg; mycooldomain.com). If you have not yet registered that domain, and it is available, you will be given the option to register it at this time.

  4. Use the drop-down menu below to indicate whether or not you want this domain to be fully hosted (meaning that we host the content on our servers, with your domain pointing to it).

  5. Press the "Fully host this domain now" button to update your account.

If you are setting up a domain you need to:

1) Change the DNS to the 3 DNS servers listed by Dreamhost in the control panel of whoever you registered the domain with.

2)Wait a maximum of 72 hours for all changes to take place.

3)Even if dreamhost says that the domain does not exist just press continue on that page and it will set it up for you eventually.

Took me 2 days to get everything up and running.

If you are setting up a subdomain, "newsub," within your current domain name, "example.com," you should enter the entire new domain name in the "domain or sub-domain field" (see set 2, above). In this case you would enter "newsub.example.com" in the text field.
