0. Introduction

Well lookee here, it's June 1st already! Wait, what's that you
say? It's already June 2nd? No it isn't. We don't believe you. Today is
June 1st and this newsletter is not a day late. Thank you for your
cooperation.

1. New BigMailbox.com Partnership

In case you've been hiding under a rock for the last few weeks and
haven't visited our main page or logged into the Web Panel, here's an
exciting announcement! We've partnered with Big Mailbox, the premier
service for offering free web-based email at your own domain! It's now a
cinch to use their free service in conjunction with Dreamhost.. you can
make all the necessary changes to your email configuration for your domain
directly through the web panel (MX Management is the specific area).
Before you do so though, make sure to read the FAQ at
http://www.dreamhost.com/faq/BMBfaq.html and of course visit their site as
well at http://www.bigmailbox.com/big.cgi/233

2. New Price Freeze

If you didn't know about the Big Mailbox stuff you probably didn't
hear about this either! Starting immediately, (actually May 21st) you
never have to worry about your price for hosting increasing! In fact,
whatever monthly price you are paying now for your service will never rise
so long as you stay with Dreamhost. We also promise to never charge a set
up fee for any new services. Remember that this promise applies only to
full plans, not additional add-on features because such pricing can, under
certain conditions, be influenced by factors beyond our control.
This price freeze, coupled with our continuing 30 day
unconditional money back guarantee just serves to reinforce what we've
always strived for: A quality webhosting service with no surprises that
people love to tell their friends about! So tell your friends about us,
you'll love doing it! Love love love!

3. New Mailing Address

In exciting news, you should NO LONGER use the Claremont mailing
address for anything you send to us. The New Address is:
        Dreamhost
        PO BOX 5479
        Huntington Park, CA 90255

Don't forget! For now, mail sent to the old address is being
forwarded to the new one, but that won't last indefinitely.

4. ACH Coming Soon

That address change shouldn't actually affect any of our current
customers at all though, because within the week there will no longer be
any need to mail anything to us! Why? Because we're now set up with ACH
(Automatic Clearing House, which allows us to deduct funds directly from
customers' checking accounts with their approval) and will be implementing
it within 10 days system-wide.
What that means, is that we will now be able to accept check
payments online (just like we do credit cards now) and so people will no
longer have to mail physical paper checks to us which we have to then
physically sign and deposit and all these other physical things. Us being
a bunch of computer dorks, we try and cut down on as many physical things
as possible in our lives.
For customers currently paying by check we'll have to ask you to
use the web panel's "Automatic Invoice Generator" to input your checking
account info securely so that we are authorized to make the withdrawals
electronically, but don't worry, there will be an announcement about the
specifics of that when it's ready to go!

5. New Employees!

Speaking of computer dorks we've got a whole truck-load of them
here, recently hired. Everybody say hello to Stephani, Ralph, Josh S.,
Simon, Ajay, Sarah, Tiffany, Nate, David, and Jack! Now we have the man
(and woman) power to get stuff done a lot faster as long as we can manage
all these slackers who don't want to do anything physical!

6. DHSOTM June '99

In case you forgot, this month the Dreamhost Site of the Month was
for Personal Sites, and the winner was:

        http://www.the-cove.net/dwelling/

Not that you could have forgotten who the winner was, because we
hadn't mentioned it before, but rather that you could have forgotten that
the category was "Personal Sites". Oh yes, the reason the-cove.net won was
because they've got everything you ever wanted in a personal site
(including little pages about their friends!) all wrapped up in a
beautiful and easily-navigatable interface!

So send in your nomination for why your site should win DHSOTM for
July, and remember that these are the categories..

            July: Club/Organization/Corporate Sites
            August: Web Stores/Malls
            September: Art/Music/Humanities-related Sites
October: Best Layout/Design and Original Navigation
            November: Web-centric Sites
            December: Funny Sites

There is very little future in being right when your boss is wrong.

places they do today. -- Will Rogers

8. Coming features

We will work on those features we mentioned in this category last
month this month. Sorry about that! But we did do those other things this
month you can see above and a lot of time has been spent training our new
employees and reorganizing things internally. Don't worry though, there
will be plenty of new and great stuff to keep you guys coming back for
more!
