Since they currently can't offer any dedicated servers, they might as well try to earn $100-$200 in commission from Hosting.com. Since a cheaper dedicated hosting provider would maybe be too good an alternative for DreamHost's more expensive plans (and their own dedicated plans when they become available again), they've chosen one of the more expensive (and maybe more reliable) hosting providers.
